Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito Rules For The 'Little Guy'
New Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito split with the court's conservative Wednesday night, refusing to let Missouri execute a death-row inmate contesting lethal injection.
Alito, handling his first case, sided with inmate Michael Taylor, who had won a stay from an appeals court earlier in the evening. Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas supported lifting the stay, but Alito joined the remaining five members in turning down Missouri's last-minute request to allow a midnight execution.

So your saying that Bush sold conservatives a Pig in a Polk. For once we thought we had a conservative and we just got another Souter.
I hope we don't see a repeat on cases that matter.
Republicans still can't see that Bush II is a liberal. His father's best friend is Clinton, Bush makes mention of Clinton in his SOTU. Be careful, you may be be dissapointed.
NJCons,
Alito is no 'pig in a poke.' We don't know the facts in this case, but we'd bet Alito was following the letter of the law as he read the case.
That's what we wanted, someone to rule on a case by case basis, not based upon some predetermined notion to acheive a desired ideological outcome. Alito will be fine. Roberts will be fine.
We think Bush mentioned Clinton in his SOTU for a couple of reasons. Our favorite was the reaction on Hillary Clinton's face. Priceless.
Just wait till Alito gets his hands on Josef K.
It's going to be excellent.
