The Corzine Tape

We’ve been waiting to hear more on the Corzine tape we posted about on Tuesday and we have just received this:

The person who has the Corzine tape is in intense discussions with the news media about releasing it. Whether or not the tape is released before the election, those who have seen it WILL be heard from. The next 48 hours could dramatically change the direction of this race.
For the good of New Jersey, if Corzine has a bundle of scandals brewing, best they come out before the election. People can then decide if Jon Corzine is worthy of their vote based upon the facts and not fall victim to voter’s regret many had with Jim McGreevey when scandal after scandal was exposed after he was elected.

I'm skeptical. What's keeping the tape people from posting the video online and letting the media frenzy move from there, e.g. the tape of George Bush apparently drinking at a party that was posted at The Smoking Gun in 2000?

Your sources are either liars or idiots. I hope they're liars, because otherwise it means they're too stupid to figure out how to encode a video and put it on a website for the world to see.

If you or your sources actually had something, it shouldn't be hard to put it out before the election (for the good of NJ, you would do that, wouldn't you? or do you hate NJ?). You've got nothing. You never have. Months and months of the same threats of revealing something. You're irrelevant.

It seems to us someone in the media is trying to get the owner of the tape to release it. That's our understanding about the tape issue. Time will tell what will come of this. Just as the $470,000 gift Corzine gave to a union president was “B.S.” until Corzine finally had to admit it was the truth.

We are mindful the media protected McGrevvey when his various skeletons were known in political and media circles.

Our point is that if Corzine has a bundle of scandals brewing, the media should source it all out and not leave voters in the dark. It's the "yea, everyone knew that" after the election, when the truth finally comes out, that harms the people of New Jersey.

The owner of the tape is probably seeking compensation for it. Maybe he should broaden his market to expand the bidding.

Do you actually have something yet? For the good of NJ...please show/tell us what it is.

Rest assured as soon as we have more information we will post it right away. Although we won't be alone - others will have the information too.

The MSM wants it for the express purpose of burying it until after the election.

The money can't be that much in the big picture of things. Whoever has it should just go public and have blogs with vid capability let it rip.

Don't you ever feel a little "greezy" when you do your smear jobs? Seriously, is your character so lacking that this is how you think political dialogue should be conducted, with innuendo, sleazy smears, and so on? I called you on this months ago and you're back with the same low-life garbage, over and over. Months ago I pointed out how 8 of the 21 postings on your front page were attacks on Corzine and not one single posting even mentioned Doug Forrester. Now when Doug Forrester claims to champion ending pay-to-play and yet has been the beneficiary of pay-to-play deals in Burlington County, that is relevant to the campaign. But whisper campaigns about mysterious videotapes with no notion of the content, that's just a dog's way of campaigning. Really. Just too creepy for words. Let me ask you this: do you have children? Later on, do you think you'll be showing these postings of yours to your children and saying, proudly, "This is how I participated in the political process; I conducted a whisper campaign"?

DBK,
You must have fallen off your chair when read the Star-Ledger endorsed Forrester. The # 1 reason the Ledger cited for their endorsement - Forrester can change the culture of corruption in Trenton, unlike Corzine. Why do you think a very liberal paper is backing Forrester?

Yes, we have very meticulously pointed out the problems in each of Jon Corzine's new spending programs – with as many new ways as Corzine has proposed to spend taxpayer dollars, we're surprised you only counted 8 critiques out of 21 on our front page back when you did your accounting.

Perhaps, for example you believe Corzine's story that he can provide state health insurance to an additional 750,000 people for $15 million – we don't. We think people might be interested in a post that points this out.

Perhaps you believe Corzine's plan to provide an additional 10% on rebates, equal to $80 for non-seniors and $120 for seniors is REAL property tax relief. We don’t. That's right, the Corzine rebate, assuming Corzine would actually follow through once elected, would produce a rebate that grows from $800 to $1,172 after four years. Spending more taxpayer dollars and not returning people's hard earned money is Corzine’s #1 priority. Compare to Forrester's plan that would reduce each homeowner's property total property tax bill by 30%. Some, not all would receive a rebate under the Corzine plan - all would receive relief under the Forrester plan. We think people are interested in a comparison. You apparently don't.

Many people would prefer all of the issues swirling around Corzine to came out before the election. Do you prefer the McGreevey model -major scandals after the election?

Yes, we refer to a video tape that would has been said would damage Corzine beyond belief with African Americans. We received this information from a very reliable source and decided to post the exact quote from an email we received from this source. Read the post – what precisely is “sleazy” about the information provided?

Think back to the endorsement of Doug Forrester by New Jersey’s two largest newspapers and ask yourself why? What do these two liberal papers, that would normally endorse a Democrat, know that you don’t?

Perhaps you could give us a few examples where we have resorted to "sleazy smears"? We’ve challenged you before to give us an example of an error we’ve made on this blog and you have never been able to point to a single post. You disagree with our politics, so stop trying to make this difference a reason to disparage us.

You on the other hand have made a negative and over-the-top approach to blogging your stock in trade. Anyone interested can sample your blog - http://frogsdong.blogspot.com/ and decide for themsleves.

Typical. Change the subject from your sleazy whisper campaign and try to talk about the Ledger, your false and nasty accusations, anything but the subject at hand.

Nice try, but you don't get any extra points for getting even greasier.

As for my blog, I spent months writing about the campaign policy proposals of the Corzine campaign, but let's face it, once Forrester went totally negative, the negative campaigning took over for everyone. You were once of the main contributors to that.

Anyway, MY blog, which anyone who wants to view is welcome to come and read, wasn't the subject. Why do you change the subject like that? Embarassed? You should be.

At 12:03 PM, Blogger Enlighten said...

DBK,

Addressed all of your points in the above comment and did not change the subject. You as usual provided no examples. What did we post that you consider sleazy? What do you mean by "whisper campaign"? Do you consider “going negative” to be when someone disagrees with your politics?

At 1:21 PM, Blogger DBK said...

This tape you promised. You hint at a tape. You whisper about some awful things on tape that you just don't mention. It would be akin to me posting that "there's a videotape of Doug Forrester doing terrible, terrible things. I can't say what they are. I don't know what they are. There is an on-going negotiation for the tape to be made public, but it will come out in a couple of days."

Then, no tape. But you planted the seed, didn't you.

And no, you didn't address my points.

Se can't see the tape, but we can smell it. And it smells like complete horseshit, actually.

At 12:04 PM, Blogger DBK said...

For the love of god man, where is the tape!

You're just a little tease.
