Zogby Shocker
This news has left us with two options. 1. Give up, because there is absolutely no hope for New Jersey. 2. Never, ever believe another Zogby poll. According to the Star-Ledger:
Five months after Gov. James McGreevey left office in disgrace, a new public opinion poll shows that 49 percent of New Jerseyans would consider voting for him in a future election.
The Zogby-Garden State Equality poll, which surveyed 804 New Jersey voters from April 12 to 14, has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
The poll even found that 30 percent of those who identified themselves as Republicans would consider voting for McGreevey, a Democrat.
'The results were shocking," said Steven Goldstein, chairman of Garden State Equality. "People in this state are so progressive, a straight politician might not have polled as well," Goldstein said.
If there is any validity to this poll we are in big trouble. Will someone please analyze this poll and tell us that it was deeply flawed.

Zogby Poll == Deeply Flawed.
Q.E.D.
Just like the polling data that supported letting Terri Schiavo die, the way questions are asked and by whom they are asked can influence the outcome of a poll. Take a look at the group who sponsored the poll and the questions asked before the McGreevey question (along with the subquestions to the McGreevey question). The results are a lot less shocking ... More like typical spin and meaningless numbers.
Question 1.
Would you rather have as governor a sensitive, caring man who has made mistakes, but is doing his best or a soul-less death eating religious fanatic who would force guns and fetuses on our children?
I'll take Door Number 2.
Wow, sluggo, you're REALLY out there.
First of all, ALL Americans have the absolute right to own guns. No one is forcing a gun on anyone. The fact that you MIGHT have a gun is a deterrent to criminals using their stolen guns on you. For that you shold be grateful.
Second, no one ever forces a fetus on anyone without committing an act of rape. If you aren't wise enough to educate your children on how to avoid having a fetus (where I come from we call that a BABY), then YOU have a problem, not the governor or the state's voters.
Also, just because conservatives respect people's rights to life and arms DOESN'T mean we don't care. Quite the contrary. We want each person to enjoy life without being killed as a baby, and without having to deal with violent crimes being committed against them because they have no immediate protection available.

As to enlighten's original question ...
It's been a long time since there was any hope for New Jersey.
Zogby tends to have about a 20% accuracy rate, in my estimation. There are some good polls he puts out there, but most of the time, he's trolling for the Donks.
So my answer is a combination of the two, as both suggestions have considerable merit.

RWR,
It's pretty clear that you don't know Sluggo or read his site. What you read was a major dose of well-written snark.
But no where near as much snark as Sluggo is capable of producing. Frankly, I was a bit disappointed.
What's so progressive about being willing to vote for a politician that was probably the most corrupt in the history of the state.???????

I guess that depends. If you are using the dictionary definition of "progressive" it IS crazy.
If however you are using the
Political definition it fits very well!
Beware Progressives bearing gifts.
