Playing The Race Card On Behalf of Bob Menendez
NJ Press in a Feeding Frenzy (Matt Stoller)Stoller offers no proof for his outrageous claim, other than the fact that the press has just begun to scratch the surface of corruption cases involving Bob Menendez. Tom Kean on the other hand is a man of integrity and campaign contributions from people who make their living in the private sector are legal.
The NJ press and political establishment is simply racist. That's why Menendez is constantly painted as 'perceived as corrupt' without proof, and Kean is considered a man with integrity, despite clear dishonesty and shaking down corporate executives for campaign cash. Way to go gossip mongers!
Back in December when Governor Corzine appointed Menendez to the Senate the New York Times wrote: "There have been 75 corruption indictments in New Jersey over the last four years. The public has a right to yearn for a break from the past, and Mr. Menendez does not represent a clean slate." Are we to believe the editors of the New York Times are racist too?
And ask yourself this question: How many people do you suppose have watched “I love Lucy” over the past 55 years and thought Ricky was of a different “race” than Lucy? Bob Menendez is of white, European ancestry. The fact that his forbearers spoke Spanish as opposed to French, German, Italian, Polish, Russian or any other European language is an attempt to split a hair that doesn’t exist.
As for proof of Menendez' corrupt political dealings - business records, trial transcripts and shakedown tapes constitute proof is some circles, such as the FBI, the U.S. Attorney’s office and judges and juries in federal courtrooms. Bob Menendez' political woes have been caused by his own actions, he has no one to blame but himself.

Tell that to Politics NJ who saw fit to post poll results for a potential showdown between Dick Codey and in all seriousness, Bill Bradley.
Perhaps the people over at Politics NJ, who have practically shut down the site(because they're too busy loading their cannons against Kean to update it) are racist for posting such superficial polls showing that two white candidates would be ahead in the polls against Kean?
If that's the case, maybe Matt thinks that the Democrats who have rejected their own candidate and would prefer two other canididates who happen to be white, racist.
These are shameless attempts to draw attention away from the Democrat's 7% sale tax that went into effect over the weekend on goods and services that previously weren't taxed in this state. The problem is that more people go shopping on weekends than read Herb Jackson's drivle of a column over the course of a week.
Democrats understand fully that even though a US Senate Race has nothing to do with state taxes that their party is linked to this tax increase and is in most polling data, the number one issue among New Jersey voters and they will stoop to any level to shift the focus.
They will do anything to hold on to this Senate seat.
