Menendez and Lautenberg Vote Against Protecting American Workers
Who’s looking out for the American worker? Not New Jersey Senators Bob Menendez or Frank Lautenberg. Yesterday we suggested a list of conditions as part of a compromise for any guest worker program. One was requiring employers to provide the government with a full accounting of their guest worker needs along with proof American workers can not be found for the jobs.
Today the U.S. Senate passed such a measure – The Cornyn Amendment to Protect American Workers. This amendment requires the Department of Labor to certify that there is not a U.S. worker who is able, willing, qualified and available to fill the job that is offered to the foreign worker.
New Jersey Senators Bob Menendez and Frank Lautenberg voted against it. Why don’t you give them a call, send them a letter or email and ask them why?

Here's the comment I emailed to both:
I am deeply disturbed that you, as my representative, have voted down the Ensign amendment (SA 5985) which would allow illegal immigrants who become guest workers to collect Social Security based on their illegal payment into the system. ILLEGAL immigrants should NOT be entitled to receive Social Security benefits they have paid into the system while ILLEGALLY using FRAUDULENT Social Security numbers STOLEN from legal citizens. Do you not understand that they are committing a misdemeanor (being here illegally) and a felony (identity theft)? Why on earth would you reward them instead of arresting and deporting them? Please explain to me why you are giving preferential treatment to ILLEGAL immigrants committing a FELONY over actual citizens. Why are they allowed to break the law? Why are you not protecting my interests as a life-long citizen of New Jersey?
Simply unbelievable members of the Democratic party would turn their back on American workers. Menendez must think labor in New Jersey won’t abandon him no matter how many sticks he pokes in our eyes. I’ve go news for him, we are paying attention.
