Linda Stender Retracts, Politics NJ.Com Deletes

You might remember the other day Politics NJ had an article by Bill Albers that began “Stender takes gloves off in race against Ferguson". What happened to the article? Dump Mike still has a post up quoting the Albers’ piece that included this quote:

Ever since clearing the primary field, the Union County Democrat has continued to campaign on a self-described "progressive" course. At an event earlier this month sponsored by Howard Dean's 'Democracy For America', Stender was quoted as being in support of starting impeachment proceedings against President Bush.

"After the vote in 2007 to elect Nancy Pelosi Speaker, the next vote should be on impeachment," Stender said.
The Albers piece quoting Stender has disappeared from the Politics NJ website and it’s obvious to us why this has happened. Politics NJ published the message Stender wanted to send to the Dump Mike and other extremist groups throughout New Jersey and the country. This “first thing I’ll do if elected message” is great for fund raising and whipping up support from those outside the congressional district. Two, now that the message has been received loud and clear by the target audience, Politics NJ has removed the article at Stender’s request. In other words, Politics NJ is helping Stender have it both ways.

A Linda Stender for Congress March 24 press release on PoliticsNJ.com includes this quote from the Assemblywoman:

"After some reflection, I realize that I was premature in calling for impeachment of the President.”
There are two messages we have received loud and clear. One, Politics New Jersey.com is actively working to help Linda Stender and the Democrat Party in New Jersey. And two, Linda Stender’s purpose in running for Congress is not to represent the people of New Jersey’s 7th congressional district, but to represent Howard Dean's “ impeachment” Democrat Party and their out of touch socialist ideology.

Linda Stender is afraid to stand up for what she believes and for good reason, she can’t be elected on her real agenda.

Update: The Politics NJ article by Bill Albers “Stender takes gloves off in race against Ferguson" is now on the website.

I can't wait to read the outraged comments from lefty blogs about the duplicitous Stender flip-flopping on impeachment!

(I won't hold my breath.)

Dudes, you need to learn to use a computer. That thing on the right side of the browser is called a "scrollbar" because it "scrolls" the page down. Go to politicsnj.com and use it and the Stender article is still up there, and always has been.

Is politicsnj also responsible for making sure "the tape" never came out?

At 10:52 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Wow, I had no idea conservatives were so dumb. The article is still on politicsnj.

The article by Bill Albers was never OFF the website. Don't play this like you discovered a major conspiracy and took down the big, bad Albers.

Can't you be honest for one second and admit you got this one wrong?

The Albers article is printed in full on Linda Stender's campaign website too. We should have known to look there first when it became unavailable on Politics NJ. We await the Albers campaing piece on Mike Ferguson, we won't hold our breath.

Has anyone checked Google cache? We have. Try again.

At 2:09 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Post a screen shot of the google cache, or a link to it. I just looked and the latest cache was done before the article was even published. What are you trying to say?

At 2:09 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Google's latest cache for that page is from March 22nd. The article was published on March 23rd.

That's why the date on the top of the Google cache page is "Wednesday, March 22, 2006" and the article at the top of the page is the one that was published BEFORE the one about Stender and Ferguson.

Google is technologically saavy, but I'm pretty sure they still haven't figured out how to travel into the future.

The Albers piece on Stender currently on Politcs NJ is dated March 22. What's this about March 23?

At 3:00 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Apologies for that. I made a mistake, and own up to it. You are right that the Stender piece is dated March 22.

However, the fact remains that the Google cache is not evidence that the Stender story was removed.

The time that Google cached the page was "22 Mar 2006 14:02:50 GMT" which is about 10 a.m. EST.

I don't know what time of day the story was posted to the site, but if it was in the morning of the 22nd getting it off the site before 10 a.m. would have been pretty fast work.

This simply suggests that the article was posted after 10:02 a.m. and so did not get in the cache.

At 3:03 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Ah, damn. 14:02 GMT is 9:02 a.m., not 10:02 a.m. Sorry.

At 3:06 PM, Blogger Enlighten-NewJersey said...

What's the date and time for the next Google cache and what does it show?

At 3:17 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Google cache is pretty random and unscheduled. For sites that have a high PR (PageRank) value and update by the minute they can get cached a couple times a day. For soemthing like PNJ it can be weekly or even less often.

It shows the site as it is at the moment the page was crawled. Whatever is there is there, and what was or wasn't there in the past doesn't matter.

EnlightenNJ was lasted cached at 27 Mar 2006 17:16:48 GMT, and Inside Edge on 20 Mar 2006 03:59:48 GMT.

Wow, conservatives are dumb AND unable to admit their mistakes.

You're a dick.

It's not nice to call names Linda!

What makes you think that the 9:27 pm Anonymous was calling you a dick? I figured they were calling the 5:17 p.m. Anonymous a dick.
